Human hair can be naturally curly, wavy or kinky. If you want to straighten your hair, you need to be careful to make this decision since straightening can do harm to your virgin hair. There are mainly four ways to straighten your hair, including both physical and chemical ways. And the method to choose is decided by the texture. Generally speaking, chemical relaxer is needed by all kinds of hair. If your hair is kinkier, you may need both chemical and physical way.
First way to straighten hair is to use a straightening comb. This method fit virgin hair better, which has never been treated with chemical process.
For those who don’t like chemical process, straightening comb and blow dryer are three major tools to use. If you have a virgin hair which has never been chemically treated before, you can use a straightening comb with heat applied to the hair. A professional and good quality pressing comb also has an electric heating pad to prevent the problem of overheating. Another similar straightening tool is flat iron which applies heat directly to hair. Flat iron with heating plates that are around 0.5 to 1 inch wide is better choice for those who have shorter hair. For longer hair customers, wider iron can be necessary. Also, you can try to use a blow dryer with a comb attachment to straighten your hair. We recommend that you should use the medium to low heating level to protect your scalp and hair texture. Too much heat can cause breakage though it produces straighter hair. Adding some rinse-free or leave-in hair conditioner could help moisturizing hair while using hair dryer to heat.
Chemical relaxer can do damage to hair. A relaxer can be sodium hydroxide to soften and swell the hair’s fibers. There are also Caustic relaxers, which are very effective and fast but have so many side effects like hair breakage, burning or even harm your scalp.
Above all the methods, they all do harm to your natural hair more or less. If you don’t want to make your hair dry and fragile, you may consider to buy hair extensions that will add length and thickness to your hair and make your hair look straight as well without damaging your own hair.
