How to Lighten Black Virgin Hair

Virgin hair is easier to bleach and dye because it contains no previous color or chemicals from dye. It’s like working with a blank new surface. To lighten black hair and dye an ash blonde color, you need to make a pre-lightening. Since it’s easy to buy bleaching kits and hair dye kits and it’s quite easy and simple to dye, you can buy the products in a good price and then do it at home. Then you’ll have a new and pretty look with a low cost.

  • First, you need to bleach your virgin hair. Choose a place of air-free and do allergy test before using the chemicals. After preparing a set of bleaching kit and old towels, brush your hair with wide-teeth comb to remove the tangles and make it smooth. This can provide a better base to work on. Divide your hair into four equal parts and tie the three sections together with a clip and put it on the other side.
  • Then you can prepare the chemicals. Read the instructions on the package first and take out the contents of bleaching kit using the measure cup. Mix the liquid color with lightening powder and put them into the bottle that contains the developer then shake it well. Don’t forget to take on the gloves to protect your skin. If you have long hair, you could add the amount of chemicals. Pick up the one strand of hair left and apply the bleach on it slowly and evenly from root to tip but avoid applying into the scalp in case it will do damage. Do the same thing to the other three strands but only do with one strand each time and wait for half to one hour. During this period, you will feel a little bit weird but it’s normal and you’ll see the hair turning to light color. When the time is up, rinse the hair with warm water till the water runs clear. Squeeze the excess water before applying a deep moisturizing conditioner. About five minutes later, rinse hair again.

Wait your hair till it’s dry by air. During this period of time you could take out the dye kit and prepare for dyeing. When your hair is dry, separate it into four sections again and mix the chemicals in dye kit. Also, pick up one strand each time and coat the hair with the mixture of dye liquid and powder. Twist your hair up, let it rest on top of the head, and leave it on for 30 minutes or so. Rinse with warm water again and apply the same conditioner to moisturize and protect your hair. After five minutes, give your hair a completely wash.
